Do you ever find yourself wishing you could go back in time? Well, with costumes from Halloween Adventure, you can!

Go all the way back to the Renaissance times with our insane Renaissance costumes. Back then, boys were gentleman and women were ladies. Ahh, to live in an age of romance.

If you’re scared to go all out, dip your feet in the water with our Lock Lace Bodice Renaissance Costume. Pair with pants or a skirt for a fabulous costume! The superb cut cups the breast for a perfect lift. Double boning in the front dips below the navel for a flat profile. Lacing in the 54 grommets up the back sides and front allows for custom fitting. Made of durable cotton twill in burgundy and trimmed in gold gimp, this bodice is engineered to last for years. A hidden pocket keeps the four pieces of spring-steel boning in place, and reinforces the front grommets.

If you think you’ve got the guts to go all out, try our Lock Lace Bodice Dress Costume. Jetsons Live Action Movie Coming!


Love the Jetson family as much as we do? Then you'll be as excited about this news as we were. Famed Dusk till Dawn, El Mariachi, Sin City and Spy Kids director  Robert Rodriguez is working on preproduction for live action version of the Jetsons. Adam F. Goldberg from Fanboys completed a script for the movie in 2007 but Rodriguez has been hard at work retooling the script. He's also been pretty tight lipped about casting for the movie. Here's hoping that the movie doesn't turn out like the live action version of the Flinstones. With Robert Rodriquez at the helm I have some faith in the project. In the meantime take a look at these re-imagined Jetsons costumes inspired by the original cartoon characters Judy and Jane never looked like this in the animate series.

We're a bit obsessed with this Jane Jetson costume. That shiny purple dress! Sparkly! Metallic! Purple! Futuristic! It's just oh-so-fabulous! Even Judy's costume is fantastic - a shimmering pink zip up number that is sure to have all the guys calling. Men will love our George Jetson costume, while kids will adore our Astro dog costume. SNL takes on Marvel with Spiderman Costumes!


SNL stars Bill Hader and Seth Meyers have written their own version of Spiderman. The story is set in New York City and according to news media Halloween is coming early this year. The comic release date is May 28th 2009, which means you should be seeing this wacky version of the famed Marvel Comic in stores. The plot is all about Spiderman getting knocked out during a Greenwich Village costume parade. That’s right this is not the suave guy we have come to know that can save the city from the evil enemies. Instead Spiderman has been knocked out and replaced.

But who is replacing him? An intoxicated reveler has taken the real Spiderman’s place by donning the costume. The rest of the plot will remain untold. Kevin Maguire did the artwork for the new comic. You might remember him from the Justice League International Comic. So you have some excellent art, but you’ll have to decide for yourself if the written work is up to standard.

 

For us, it means just another boost in Spiderman costume choices. You might decide to add your own story to the tale this year for Halloween. What better costume idea than to have a bit of a knocked out look to your Spidey? Of perhaps you have revealed your identity as the real “Spiderman.”

With Spiderman 3 costumes and Marvel comics you can never go wrong at a costume party. Just think this year could be full of Spiderman, Wolverine costumes, and much more. Afterall if it is not a new comic that spurs you into action for your current costume it might just be a movie like X-Men Origins Wolverine. The movie has been an ongoing hit since its release earlier this month.

Marvel Comics has also provided Justice League costumes for us. Wonder woman costumes for the female persona may even be right up your alley. The truth is even with an SNL spin on the favored comic there are always going to be costumes for everyone based on the heroes created.

Twilight Love Story and Costumes!


Vampire love story Twilight was released on DVD this past week, and as expected, it sold many a copy! The movie sold more than 3 million copies on the first day of its release! All the mayhem got us in the mood for some vampire fun, so we pulled out our favorite vampire costumes! Check out all of the gory goodies you'll need to recreate a vampire love affair here.

The hoopla began Friday night with a series of midnight events. Or rather, the craziness began hours earlier as young fans and their parents lined up at retail stores across the country to be among the first to take home a copy.

In Salt Lake City, 2,500 devotees braved lines, while 2,000 attended in Los Angeles and 700 showed up in New York. Several "Twilight" actors made appearances at the events, including Ashley Greene(Alice Cullen), Nikki Reed (Rosalie Hale), Rachelle Lefevre (Victoria) and Edi Gathegi (Laurent). Director Catherine Hardwicke held court in Dallas, even though she will not be helming the next film in the series, "New Moon." Not in attendance, however, were the film's biggest stars, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.

The opening sales make "Twilight" one of the five best-selling DVDs of the last two years, joining blockbusters "The Dark Knight," "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End," "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" and "Transformers."

We’ve got a birthday to celebrate! In just a couple of days America will turn 233 years old! Everyone seems to celebrate it in one way or another, or at least acknowledge it.
I just say the words, ”4th of July” and immediately you’ve got images of fireworks, parades, and barbeques flooding your mind. Everything isred, white, and blue. Uncle Sam has a big grin and is dancing about in the streets. Flags are waving away and there’s an overall feeling of happiness, right? At the very least, most of us think of the 4th of July as the start of summer and spend some time outside basking or playing in the sun – slathered in sunscreen, of course.
Here’s some interesting facts you may not know about Independence Day. Share them with your friends and family and you’ll look utterly brilliant, and, no doubt be the life of the party on the 4th of July.
    The first Independence Day was celebrated on July 8th, 1776 – not on the 4th!The 4th of July wasn’t even a federal legal holiday until 1941!In 1776 there were 2.5 million people in the 13 original colonies. Last year on the 4th, there were 302 million in 50 states.The US imported about $216 million of fireworks in 2006, with $206 million from China.We also imported $5.3 million in flags – again, mostly from China.Americans eat more than 150 million hot dogs on the 4th of July!

This Halloween, go down the rabbit hole and follow Alice around Wonderland. This famous trippy tale is the perfect story to model your Halloween costumes around, as there are millions of characters to mimic. Just be careful you don’t try anything labeled “eat me.” As Alice has taught us, those little mushrooms can be bad news!
Ladies can start with our Alice Adult Fairytale Classics Costume. Includes a blue satin dress with attached apron, and a black headband. You may want to practice a perfect British accent with a hint of ditz, as we’re aware Alice wasn’t the brightest crayon in the box. Masquerade Prom is HOT in New York City this year!

We here at Halloween Adventure 43rd Street have made one BIG observation this past week:

Masquerade masks are definitely IN with the high school and teenage crowd here in the Times Square area. Masquerade Prom, masquerade school cruises, masquerade Sweet Sixteens (and Fifteens). That means it's been a very busy week for us here at Masquerade Costumes!

Floor managers Gabby and Oriana report that at least 3 schools in the area are having masquerade themed proms (junior and/or senior proms), according to information they've gathered from teenage shoppers this week. Oriana says that masks are being bought by both male and female students. "It's not just the girls," said Oriana, "but the females have been more into feathers."

When asked what sort of masks the teens have been buying most, store manager Stella reports "Mardi Gras, definitely." She goes on, "I've been getting groups of kids in here all day buying Mardi Gras masks. Definitely." Stella said she would certainly call this a feeding frenzy.

Gabby spoke a bit about the development of the masquerade mask popularity among the teenagers. She said the mad dash for masks this week started with a small burst of student shopper activity on Monday, and by Thursday the rush was in full swing.

Gabby also added that she has noticed the masquerade mask popularity gradually increasing with young people since New Years this year.

The masquerade rush has been keeping the Masquerade staff on their toes this prom season, and Stella and crew have been in top form throughout it all!

It's been a while since we've seen Santa, and with the summer heat hitting us like no other, we can't help but wish we could fast forward through the humidity and end up at the North Pole. Masquerade Prom is HOT in New York City this year!

We here at Halloween Adventure 43rd Street have made one BIG observation this past week:

Masquerade masks are definitely IN with the high school and teenage crowd here in the Times Square area. Masquerade Prom, masquerade school cruises, masquerade Sweet Sixteens (and Fifteens). That means it's been a very busy week for us here at Masquerade Costumes!

Floor managers Gabby and Oriana report that at least 3 schools in the area are having masquerade themed proms (junior and/or senior proms), according to information they've gathered from teenage shoppers this week. Oriana says that masks are being bought by both male and female students. "It's not just the girls," said Oriana, "but the females have been more into feathers."

When asked what sort of masks the teens have been buying most, store manager Stella reports "Mardi Gras, definitely." She goes on, "I've been getting groups of kids in here all day buying Mardi Gras masks. Definitely." Stella said she would certainly call this a feeding frenzy.

Gabby spoke a bit about the development of the masquerade mask popularity among the teenagers. She said the mad dash for masks this week started with a small burst of student shopper activity on Monday, and by Thursday the rush was in full swing.

Gabby also added that she has noticed the masquerade mask popularity gradually increasing with young people since New Years this year.

The masquerade rush has been keeping the Masquerade staff on their toes this prom season, and Stella and crew have been in top form throughout it all!

With the coming of Iron Man 2 to theatres this week (Friday, May 7), so too have come a great selection of Iron Man costumes to New York Costumes!

For adult Iron Man fans and character portrayals, we have both Iron Man and War Machine costumes.


The Adult Deluxe Iron Man Mark VI costume includes a strikingly realistic color and shading style to represent the Iron Man body armor, as well as a muscled chest and shoulders (for extra buffness!), a glowing reflector chest icon, and a mask in the style of Iron Man's helmet.

Elf Obsessed!

We don't know about you, but we're always sad when Christmas is over, because it means that we can't exactly get away with watching Will Ferrell's Elf on repeat. Let's talk about elves, baby. In particular, let's talk about elf costumes and some great options for dressing the part of one of Santa's helpers.

For starters, there is the classic Red and Green Velvet Elf Costume, which makes a splendid stand-alone costume or a base for holiday elven attire. Slip on the velvet one-piece red and green tunic, wrap the golden cord belt around your waist, on with the included hat and shoes, and off you go! There are golden belts and pom poms attached to the garment as well.
Not in the market for velvet elvishness? There's also the simpler, matte style Red and Green Elf Tunic to serve as your base garment or stand-alone. This tunic comes with a hat, cord belt, and shoes, all in red and green alternating colors. There are no bells on this one, but there are certainly pom poms! Bells can be added on to the belt, hat, or shoes with a bit of do-it-yourself needle and thread work.

For elvish wear of a solid color, there's the Green Peter Pan Costume, which comes with a tunic, hat, and tights, all in green. The other day at the gym, we caught a good 45 minutes of Michelle Phieffer in Grease 2, and we have to admit - we missed Sandy and Danny. Grease isn't Grease without Olivia Newton John and John Travolta - unless that is, you're recreating the original Sandra Dee and Danny Zuko with our favorite Grease costumes! Check out the best of the best, below.


For starters, our Grease Danny Wig is a surefire hit. Put this wig on, and you can almost get away with wearing whatever you want. A 50s pompadour style, this headpiece might have people confusing you with John Travolta, so you might want to practice your moves.
If you’re looking to go all the way, check out our Danny Deluxe T-Bird Jacket Costume. This one will have you showing off your moves in front of the neighbors. Just be careful not to injure yourself when you’re jumping on and off the car doing your dance. Danny Zuko would be proud!

We’ve got a birthday to celebrate! In just a couple of days America will turn 233 years old! Everyone seems to celebrate it in one way or another, or at least acknowledge it.
I just say the words, ”4th of July” and immediately you’ve got images of fireworks, parades, and barbeques flooding your mind. Everything isred, white, and blue. Uncle Sam has a big grin and is dancing about in the streets. Flags are waving away and there’s an overall feeling of happiness, right? At the very least, most of us think of the 4th of July as the start of summer and spend some time outside basking or playing in the sun – slathered in sunscreen, of course.
Here’s some interesting facts you may not know about Independence Day. Share them with your friends and family and you’ll look utterly brilliant, and, no doubt be the life of the party on the 4th of July.
    The first Independence Day was celebrated on July 8th, 1776 – not on the 4th!The 4th of July wasn’t even a federal legal holiday until 1941!In 1776 there were 2.5 million people in the 13 original colonies. Last year on the 4th, there were 302 million in 50 states.The US imported about $216 million of fireworks in 2006, with $206 million from China.We also imported $5.3 million in flags – again, mostly from China.Americans eat more than 150 million hot dogs on the 4th of July!

This Halloween, pay homage to the other half of our species. No, we don’t mean men; we mean animals! Some we think of as pets, some we see in zoos, some we see as food, but let’s face it, all of them make great costumes!
Buggin’ out? Women can rock our Lady Bug Adult Classic Costume. This costume is as adorable as can be, with a short red mini dress with black spots, black and red wings and a little hat with antennae. It even comes with black gloves!
Go sexy with our Peacock Animal Costume. This costume includes a fabulous striped dress with blues, greens and gold. It comes with a giant peacock tail that fans out behind you, and a feathered headpiece. Peacocks aren’t a usual costume choice, so you can be sure you’ll be the only girl around with this baby on!

You know, those kids in high school who wore all black and probably had a lot of piercings and listened to music so loud you could swear it would break their eardrums into millions of tiny electrified pieces. Well, this Halloween, pay them some homage. They were different. They were badass. They had attitude. Where to Find Harry Potter Costumes

 

The official Harry Potter theme park opened in Orlando, Florida, today, and to celebrate, we thought we'd pull out some of our favorite magical costumes! The boy who lived, otherwise known as Harry Potter, is the baddest wizard around. This Halloween, do a take on Harry and his friends with our wide variety of Harry Potter costumes. We’ve got everything from Ron and Hermione to Voldemort and the Death Eaters; so no matter which side you choose, you won’t lack an outfit.
We’ll start with the boy who started it all: Harry Potter himself! Our Premium HP Gryffindor Costume is the perfect way to dress as Harry. It features a premium deluxe hooded robe is made of Black velvet and lined in Burgundy satin with a front clasp and the Gryffindor Crest on the front. We recommend practicing Quidditch in this robe, sure to keep you warm at all times! Wand sold separately here.
For Ron and Hermione, try our Gryffindor Robes. These robes match Harry’s, so they can even be used for a Neville or Seamus costume. What to Wear on Thanksgiving!


Who says you can’t continue celebrating Halloween all the way into Thanksgiving? Since Thanksgiving is a holiday that’s steeped in history, you might as well dress the part and reenact the story of peace, forgiveness and sharing. We’ve shown you adult Indian costumes, and both children and adult Pilgrim costumes, which leaves only one thing left to fulfill: children’s Indians costumes! We have a wide variety of outfits, perfect for everywhere from the living room to the school play. Our Indian Boy Children’s Costume is the perfect way to begin your holiday. We’ve got a birthday to celebrate! In just a couple of days America will turn 233 years old! Everyone seems to celebrate it in one way or another, or at least acknowledge it.
I just say the words, ”4th of July” and immediately you’ve got images of fireworks, parades, and barbeques flooding your mind. Everything isred, white, and blue. Uncle Sam has a big grin and is dancing about in the streets. Flags are waving away and there’s an overall feeling of happiness, right? At the very least, most of us think of the 4th of July as the start of summer and spend some time outside basking or playing in the sun – slathered in sunscreen, of course.
Here’s some interesting facts you may not know about Independence Day. Share them with your friends and family and you’ll look utterly brilliant, and, no doubt be the life of the party on the 4th of July.
    The first Independence Day was celebrated on July 8th, 1776 – not on the 4th!The 4th of July wasn’t even a federal legal holiday until 1941!In 1776 there were 2.5 million people in the 13 original colonies. Last year on the 4th, there were 302 million in 50 states.The US imported about $216 million of fireworks in 2006, with $206 million from China.We also imported $5.3 million in flags – again, mostly from China.Americans eat more than 150 million hot dogs on the 4th of July!
Throw on your party clothes and celebrate Uncle Sam’s birthday. Do it in style. Red, white, and blue is the way to go - whether you’re in a bikini, shorts and a t-shirt, or a suit.
